You can Epson XP 430 Wireless Printer Setup communicate with your computer using a wireless router or access point.
The wireless router or access point can be connected to your computer over a wireless or wired network.

Selecting Wireless Network Settings From the Control Panel

You can select or change wireless printer setup network using XP 430 control panel.
To install Epson XP 430 wireless network, follow the instructions on the Start Here sheet and install the necessary software from the product CD. The installer program guides you through network setup.
Breakdown or repair of this product may cause loss of network data and settings.
Epson is not responsible for backing up or recovering data and settings during or after the warranty period. We recommend that you make your own backup or print out your network data and settings.
  1. Press the home button, if necessary.
  2. Press the left or right arrow button to select Wi-Fi Setup and press the OK button. You see this screen:
  3. Press the OK button to select Wi-Fi Setup Wizard.
  4. Press the up or down arrow button to select the name of your wireless network and press the OK button.
  5. Enter your wireless password (or network name and then password).
If you do not see your wireless network's name, you can enter it manually. To enter the wireless network name manually, select Other SSIDs and press the OK button. Enter your network name as described in the next step.
  1. Press the arrow buttons to highlight a character or a function button displayed on the keypad. Then press the OK button to select it.
  2. To change the case of letters or select symbols, select AB12 (uppercase), ab12 (lowercase), or Symbol and press the OK button. Then highlight a number or symbol and press the OK button to select it.
  3. To enter a space, select Space and press the OK button.
  4. To delete characters, select the back arrow and press the OK button.
  5. When you finish entering characters, select Done and press the OK button.
  6. Press the OK button to confirm Epson XP 430 Wi-Fi settings.
  7. To print a network status report, select Yes, press the OK button, and press the start button.(Otherwise, select No and press the OK button.)
Your Epson XP 430 should now display a Wi-Fi icon with connection bars in the upper right corner of the LCD screen. If the Wi-Fi icon is not displayed on the LCD screen, you may have selected the wrong network name or entered the password incorrectly. Repeat these steps to try again.

Epson XP 430 Wireless Direct Mode Setup

You can set up your Epson XP 430 wireless communicate directly with your computer or another device without requiring a wireless router or access point.

You can select one of these modes to communicate with your computer or device:

Epson XP 430 Access point mode
The product itself acts as the network access point for up to 4 devices. When operating in this mode,
Epson XP 430 displays an AP connection symbol on the LCD screen.
Peer-to-peer mode
  1. The Epson XP 430 wireless setup communicates one-to-one with another Wi-Fi Direct capable device. When operating in this mode, your product displays a Direct or D connection symbol on the LCD screen.
  2. To disconnect a peer-to-peer mode connection, release the connection to your product from your computer or other device.
  3. To enable peer-to-peer mode, you must select it from the Web Config Utility, under WiFi/Network Settings > Services > Wi-Fi Direct

Enabling Epson XP 430 Wireless Direct Mode

You can enable Wi-Fi Direct mode to allow direct communication between your Epson and computer or other devices without a wireless router or access point.
  1. Press the home button, if necessary.
  2. Press the left or right arrow button to select Wi-Fi Setup and press the OK button.
  3. Press the up or down arrow button to select Wi-Fi Direct Setup and press the OK button.
  4. Make sure Connection Setup is highlighted, then press the OK button
  5. Press the down arrow button, then press the OK button to change the Wi-Fi Direct password. If you have already connected devices or computers to your product via Wi-Fi Direct, they will be disconnected when you change the password.
  6. Enter your Wi-Fi Direct password. Your password must be at least 8 and no more than 22 characters long.
  7. Press the OK button.
  8. Use your computer or wireless device to select the Wi-Fi network name (SSID) displayed on the LCD screen, then enter the password shown.
  9. Press the OK button to exit.
You see either an AP or Direct connection symbol on the LCD screen and should be able to print
directly to your product from your computer or device.
If the AP or Direct connection symbol is not displayed on the LCD screen, Wi-Fi Direct mode
is not enabled. Repeat these steps to try again.

  2. I can't get mine to scan. It keeps saying to scan via USB, i have searched every square inch of the damn thing and cant find the USB port to connect my USB printing cable to scan via USB. It prints wirelessly with no problem. I also have googled for about an hour and cant find directions anywhere telling me WHERE THE DAMN THING IS.

    1. The front has a memory card reader that lets you walk up and print from an SD card without actually touching a computer. Unlike previous models, however, you don't have an open USB input to connect a flash drive; if you want to upload your photos, you'll need to do so by extracting your SD card from the camera and popping it into the machine.
