To set up an HP Envy 4500 printer on a wireless (Wi-Fi) network, connect the printer to the wireless network, then install the printer driver and software from the HP website from a computer with Windows. When prompted during the installation, select Wireless as the connection type.

Before setup HP Envy 4500 Wireless printer on your wireless network, gather the network name and password, and turn on your router, printer, and computer. Gather the following items:
  1. Network name: The network name is the SSID (Service Set Identifier).
  2. Network password: The password might also be called the WEP key or WPA security passphrase.

  1. On the printer control panel, press the Wi-Fi icon , and then press the button next to Settings.

  3. The wizard searches for and displays a list of available networks.
  4. Press the down arrow to scroll to the name of your network, and then press OK.
  5. If the list does not contain your network name, you can enter it manually.

  1. When you finish entering the new network name, scroll to Done and press OK.
  2. The printer attempts to connect to the network.
  3. When prompted, enter the WEP or WPA key.
  4. Press the down arrow to scroll to the appropriate letters or numbers on the on-screen keyboard.
