HP offers several mobile printing solutions to choose from depending on the laptop or notebook and on the printing environment home, small or medium business, and enterprise business.

If the printer supports it, you can print wirelessly with HP mobile printing solutions from a laptop or notebook directly to an HP printer using one or more of the apps, drivers, and/or software listed below.

NOTE: The mobile apps and printing solutions provided in this document are for use with HP LaserJet printers. These solutions might also be compatible with other printers such as Deskjet, Inkjet, Officejet, or Photosmart for which additional mobile apps or printing solutions might also be available. HP LaserJet Pro M501 Print From OS X

The following Apple-compatible mobile print solutions can be used in OS X 10.7 and later laptops or notebooks with these Supported LaserJets .

HP LaserJet Pro M501 AirPrint Automatic Connect

Use AirPrint to automatically find an HP printer in Wi-Fi range and print directly to an AirPrint enabled HP printer from a mobile Apple computer running OS X 10.7, 10.8, or 10.9.6 Printer must be connected to a local wired or wireless network. Included in Apple laptops .

HP ePrint Software

Use HP ePrint Software to print any file type or size wirelessly to multiple printers using a single print driver in Windows 8 / 8.1. Can be used to print to an HP Public Print Location (PPL).3,4 Works with an HP Wireless Direct5 connection

HP ePrint via email

Use HP ePrint via email  to print worldwide by sending an email with a file attachment (10MB or less), from any location, to the printer's email address. Assign the printer an email address by registering a free account at HP Connected Non-HP site . Can be used with multiple web-connected printers on different networks. No app or download necessary.

The following Windows-compatible mobile print solutions can be used in Windows 8/8.1, Windows 7, Windows Vista, and Windows XP laptops or notebooks with these Supported LaserJets .
     
Google CloudPrint
   
Use CloudPrint to save files to Google Cloud or to print from a Google/Gmail account to multiple HP printers that are HP ePrint-capable (cloud/internet ready) or HP classic printers (not ePrint-capable) - no need for printer-specific drivers. To print to 'Cloud ready' printers, a free account registration with HP Connected Non-HP site is required to assign the printer an email address. To print to 'HP Classic' printers, the Google Chrome Web browser is required. Available with any Google/Gmail account .

For Windows 8/8.1, other driver options such as the HP Universal Print Driver (UPD), Basic/PCL6, and Plug and Play solutions, can be used as mobile alternatives (for select LaserJets). Where available, these can be downloaded at www.hp.com/go/support . The Windows Update or InOS driver can also be used in Windows 8/8.1 as mobile alternatives for select LaserJets. HP ePrint Enterprise

HP ePrint Enterprise is a private, cloud/internet-based solution that uses administrative software hosted on a server to discover devices and print securely inside an Enterprise firewall and to thousands of HP ePrint Public Print Locations3,4 to supported HP LaserJet printers using either HP ePrint via email or HP ePrint Software for Windows or Mac.
