iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch users can print wirelessly to any ePrint-enabled HP printer that is connected to the same local wireless network. Most HP OfficeJet Pro 8720 printers and later support AirPrint. Many Apple apps support AirPrint, including Safari, Mail, Photos, and iWorks. Additionally, other popular apps available in the App Store are supported. In the app, tap the Action icon ( or ), and then tap Print to print with AirPrint.

With AirPrint, it's easy to print full quality photos and documents from your Mac, iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch without having to install additional software. AirPrint is built into most popular printer models, like the ones listed in this article.

To use an AirPrint printer with your Wi-Fi network, make sure your printer is connected to the same network as your iOS device or Mac. Then select the AirPrint printer from your favorite app and you're ready to print.

On your Mac, you can also connect your AirPrint printer to a USB port or Ethernet port if you don't want to print wirelessly. Check the documentation that came with your printer to see if it includes one of these ports.
AirPrint features include easy discovery, automatic media selection, and enterprise-class finishing options. In corporate environments, DNS records can be configured to enable your AirPrint printer to appear across other networks. On your printer, make sure the wireless feature is on, and the printer is connected to your local wireless network.

Some printers have a wireless icon   and a blue light on the front of the printer. Make sure the light is on and not blinking, if your printer has a wireless icon.
On your Apple iOS device, open the Wi-Fi settings and make sure you are connected to the same local wireless network as your printer.

AirPrint does not support public wireless networks, such as public mobile hotspots, Bluetooth, or cellular data connections, either 3G or 4G.
  1. Open the document, photo, email, or webpage you want to print, then tap the Share icon   or  to display the menu options.
  2. Tap Print or the Print icon , depending on the type of file you want to print.
  3. The Printer Options menu displays.
  4. On the Printer Options menu, tap Select Printer.
  5. A list of available printers on the network displays.
  6. Select your printer, change print settings if necessary, then tap Print.

You can use your printer to print documents and photos directly from your mobile devices such as a
smartphone or tablet.
  • iOS: Use the Print option from the Share menu. No setup is required since iOS AirPrint is preinstalled. .

Printing using Apple’s AirPrint is supported for iOS 4.2 and Mac OS X 10.7 or later. Use AirPrint to print
wirelessly to the printer from an iPad (iOS 4.2), iPhone (3GS or later), or iPod touch (third generation or later) in the following mobile applications:
  • Mail
  • Photos
  • Safari
  • Supported third-party applications, for example Evernote
To use AirPrint, ensure the following:
  • The printer must be connected to the same network as your AirPrint enabled device. If a local version of this website is not available in your country/region or language, you might be directed to the HP Mobile Printing site in another country/region or language.
  • Load paper that matches the paper settings of the printer (see Load paper for more information). Accurately setting the paper size for the paper that is loaded, enables a mobile device to know what paper size it is printing.

Check these things if you are unable to print, or if you see the message "No AirPrint Printers Found."
On your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, verify that your device is using the latest version of iOS available and that the app you're printing from is up to date.

On your Mac, use Software Update to update OS X and apps you've purchased from the Mac App Store.
Check with your printer's manufacturer to see if any firmware updates are available for your printer model.
You can connect an AirPrint device to your network either through bridging, or a direct connection to your Wi-Fi network.

AirPrint devices connected to the USB port of an Apple AirPort Base Station or AirPort Time Capsule don't use AirPrint. If your printer includes AirPrint, connect it directly to your Wi-Fi network or the Ethernet LAN port on your Base Station to print wirelessly.

After turning on your printer, wait a few moments before trying to print. Some printers might take a minute or two after powering up before joining your network.
